Guests for grid iron grazing

Posted on 03. Oct, 2010

We decided to start our neighborhood outreach on a rather small scale. We invited two sets of neighbors to join us for an evening of VERY casual dining and watching football and playing cards. The first couple we invited lives next door, they have a son in 3rd grade (may be interested in Upwards Basketball). The other couple we've known for quite a while, but we've needed to draw closer to them since they became Christians about 2 years ago. They really liked a particular prayer/devotional booklet from a recent Bible study and will get a copy for us (how 'bout that?!). We all exchanged phone numbers and are looking forward to meeting again soon to play cards and get better acquainted.

What a great idea Doug and Ana! Just think, maybe the family that suggested the prayer/devotional booklet from one of their bible studies will be touched by your example/outreach and do the same with others in the neighborhood.

Doug and Ana, thank you for loving your neighbors. I love that you engaged your neighbors with some food and fun. It sounds like you made them feel comfortable – and you even exchanged phone numbers! You all are a great example and I thank you for your leadership!
